Good afternoon, Club Brittany Members,

I’m writing this email to let everyone know about some exciting updates.

First, Summer 2024 registration is open with an option for four payments. First Payment will be when registering, 2nd payment is March 16th, 3rd payment is April 16th, and the last payment is May 16th. This option is only available until March 15th, though, so please sign up before then if you want to use payments. The full payment option is also available. Please spread the word!

Second update, the Capital Campaign drive is live. 100% of donated money will go toward improvements to the Club Brittany facility. Zeffy is the site being used for merchant services. They don’t charge any fees to CB. I can also sign up for Paypal or other services, but they all charge a fee. I’ll update the CB website with specific projects and their estimated costs. If anyone wants to sponsor a specific project, CB will create a tag to be placed on the project. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

And the last update, the Corporate Sponsorship drive is live. There are four sponsorship levels which each have their own level of advertising with Club Brittany. All funds collected from this drive will go toward facility improvements and this summer’s social calendar. If you know anyone interested in partnering with Club Brittany, send them our way. Speaking of the social calendar, we have a big summer planned. Look for this summer’s social calendar to be emailed in April!

Also, look for an email soliciting volunteers to perform improvements and clean-up before opening weekend in May.

Have a great day!

Club Brittany Holiday Update

Good afternoon Club Brittany Families,

The holiday season always seems to have so much going on and its no different at Club Brittany. Seniors at VBCPS’s Salem High School are building Little Free Library’s as a Service Learning Project and Club Brittany has been lucky enough to get one. It arrived yesterday. It is full and located at the end of Five Point Rd. It’s the perfect excuse to take a stroll or bike ride to CB one of our nicer winter days.

Speaking of Christmas, Club Brittany 2024 registration is currently open. A membership could make a great Christmas gift for your loved ones who have never been members before and the first year is super affordable. Don’t forget to use the New Member Code “Trantwood PTA” and we’ll donate a portion of the registration to the Trantwood PTA.

With the help of a couple special Trantwood Cardinals, I’ve been working on installing a new railing at the Bulkhead in front of Club Brittany. The old dock and stairs were in rough shape, but still very inviting to some of our more adventurous little citizens. The rope didn’t do much to keep them out. Construction is on-going, but should be wrapped up by New Years.

After New Year’s, we have several contractors lined up to perform some much needed repairs to the facility. There is much to be done, but we’re limiting the work until we get the Capitol Campaign and Corporate Sponsorships rolling. Watch the webpage in the coming weeks for a list of projects and live links to sign up to donate or sponsor Club Brittany!

Finally, in the spirit of the Holiday Season, I’d like to encourage our members who are able, to donate blood.

Team Dalton we have one last opportunity to make a difference in 2024. Join us on December 28th in donating blood. You don’t have to spend any money to save a life with your donation.

October Update

Good morning, Club Brittany Families,

Last weekend, several volunteers came out to help cover the pool. I wanted to thank them for their help. It was my first experience with the cover and wow, what a pain it was.

Additionally, we have a few projects that we’re working on at the facility. I plan to be back out there next Saturday, October 28th. Please email me if you’d like to come help and we’ll make sure we have the tools and material lined up for the number of volunteers. Please also email me if you can’t help next weekend, but would like to be included in future activities.

And finally, I’d like to announce that we’ve opened up the 2024 registration for anyone who would like to pay their membership in full with a one time payment. This would make a great Christmas present from Grandparents. Or, just sign your family up. Also, our new member codes for the Trantwood PTA and the Friends and Family deals are still valid. So, please pass the word to friends who’ve been thinking of joining.

Autumn Afternoon at Club Brittany

Posted by Club Brittany President at Oct 1, 2023 7:42PM PDT

Yesterday, I spent a few hours at Club Brittany. I hadn’t planned it, but my schedule opened up and I had been meaning to get by there. I loaded my mower and a few tools into the SUV and headed down to the pool to take on some projects.

While cleaning the gutter around the court, a car pulled up. Two men and two teenagers got out and walked around the grounds. One of the guys came over and we talked for a while. He was in town, visiting from San Diego. He and his brother came by to show his kids the pool. He said that he grew up in Laurel Cove and when he was a kid, a membership at Club Brittany was essential for a fun summer. He talked about his memories of the pool, the high dive, fishing behind the pool, and climbing into the culverts to catch eels. His aunt lived off Five Point Rd and he said that the best memories of his childhood were down on Five Point Rd in the couple blocks between her house and Club Brittany.

Growing up, the closest thing that I had to Club Brittany was the Oceana enlisted pool. We had fun there. Sometimes, we’d bring friends. Sometimes, we’d make friends with kids that we saw there more than once. It wasn’t like Club Brittany, though. When our family goes to Climb Brittany, my boy sees friends from school, the neighborhood, and the baseball fields. All of these are important elements of our Great Neck Community and in the summer, Club Brittany Swim Club is an essential part of a fun summer.

These memories that this man shared with me are the same reason that I’ve joined the Board. These are the memories that I want to help create for my son and his friends. I’m excited about the team that Club Brittany has for Summer 2024 and for the work ahead during this off-season and over the next several years.
